Welcome to our website

The Friends of the Selinsgrove Community Library is a non-profit association, established in 2003, of community members who believe that good libraries are essential to the cultural and economic well-being of our community.

We are independent and separate from the library board of trustees, but work in close cooperation with the library staff and board to improve and promote the library.  We focus public attention on library services and activities, strengthen and expand library services and supplement library funding, allowing for special collections, services, materials and programs that would not otherwise be possible.  We also include all branches of the Snyder County Libraries in many of our gifts of support.

Through our many fundraisers, our Friends group has funded, in full or in part, programs and collections that appeal to a diverse age group:

  • Annual Summer Reading Program
  • Children's bilingual computer
  • Laptop computer
  • Award-winning children’s books
  • Shelving in new children’s library
  • Movie license for teen movies
  • Annual additions to collections for all age groups
  • Donation to Capital Campaign
Since 2003, the Friends' donations to the library have totaled more than $125,000.

Volunteers are always needed and heartily welcomed!  Come on down.  Get involved with other motivated people who share a common interest in making our library the best that it can be.

Hope you'll join us!
