Vice President’s Report. No report.

Secretary’s Report. Liz Heim moved and Janis Gemberling seconded the motion that the minutes from the October meeting were approved as corrected.

Treasurer’s Report. Janis Gemberling reported a balance of $19,791.02 at present. Liz Heim moved and Lynn Askew seconded a motion that the treasurer’s report be accepted and filed for audit.

Library Board Liaison’s Report. Lynn Askew reminded the group that the Snyder County Library Board is sponsoring an Evening with the Arts. Deborah Bernhisel had tickets available for those who wished to purchase them in advance.

Library Report. Barbara McGary brought two items to the meeting:

  • The Library Staff is preparing a reception for Pam Ross, the new librarian, and will be inviting the members of the Friends Board to attend.
  • The present focus of the Selinsgrove branch of the library is to “rethink” the look of the library. With that in mind, Barbara presented the 2008 Wish List for the library. The Wish List was distributed and will be acted upon at the December meeting of the Friends Board.

Crocks. SU crocks are doing well. We have ordered 200 to date. Emily Johnson moved and Pat Hess seconded a motion to designate up to $100 for an ad in the SU Crusader. We have ordered 700 Rolling Green crocks to date.

Merchandise. There will be Christmas tiles and miscellaneous items available for purchase at Tree Fest.

Publicity. All major avenues have been covered for crocks and Tree Fest.

Membership. TOTAL = 106 memberships (137 individual members). There are 3 corporate, 24 family, 23 individual, 17 lifetime, and 39 senior memberships collected to date.

Tree Fest. The library will be doing the pre-school story hour at Tree Fest twice during the run of the event. Tree Fest opens December 1.

Old Business. We will need to address the issue of Sales Tax on resold items. Liz Heim will gather information for discussion.

New Business.

  • Janis Gemberling was nominated to the position of treasurer. Liz Heim moved and Emily Johnson seconded the motion to nominate Janis for that position. The motion to nominate passed.
  • Open House for Pam Ross – December 14 5-6:30 pm at the Selinsgrove Library. Liz Heim moved and Emily Johnson seconded a motion that the Friends donate $100 toward the event. The library staff will make all of the necessary arrangements. The motion carried.
  • Friends’ December meeting (December 12) at 18 Calvett Place (Joyce Hendrick’s residence).

 Meeting adjourned.

 Respectfully submitted,

 Deborah M. Bernhisel
Secretary
