About Friends |
About Friends Friends of the Selinsgrove Community Library is a non-profit organization, reorganized in 2003. We are a group of volunteers who works very hard to make our library the best that it can be. We inform the community about the library's services and programs and we advocate for the library within the community. We raise funds to enhance and expand library's collections, facilities, services and programs, and we assist the library with special events. Our library provides services for all ages in our community and we are proud that our many gifts to the library have enhanced resources and services geared to all ages, including pre-school, school age, teens and adults. Our Mission Statement "The purpose of this organization shall be to maintain an association of persons interested in libraries; to focus public attention on the library; to stimulate the use of the library's resources and services; to receive and encourage gifts, endowments, and bequests to the library; to support and cooperate with the library in developing library services and facilities for the community; to lend legislative support where needed; and to support the freedom to read act as expressed in the American Library Association Bill of Rights." Join Friends We hope that youll renew your current membership in Friends or become a new member in 2008. We’re sure that you will be proud of the way your membership will help to enhance the Snyder County Libraries. Forms available at the Library or on this site. Friends of the Selinsgrove Community
