Friends Funding to
Library 2004

We placed award-winning literature in the
hands of our community's children by contributing to a grant
from the Libri Foundation,
which purchased over a thousand dollars worth of children's books.

We provided for
puppets and puppet shows to
enrich young children's first experiences with libraries and books.
We purchased a public performance license
and a 25" DVD/TV combo to enhance library programming developed
and created by area teens. We also created a special place
just for teens in the library to make them feel more comfortable in
an educational environment.
We brought storytellers into the homes of
children through the purchase of Windsor Dial-A-Story.
Call 374-4537 to hear a 2 - 3 minute
story. For preschool through 2nd grade children. Story
plays for one week and changes on Mondays.
We funded Tutor-com for live homework help
from certified teachers over the internet. Free tutoring in
math, science, social studies and English. Grades 4 - 12 and
college introduction. Every day 3 - 10 p.m.
We motivated an entire county of children
to read independently over the summer.
