Tree Fest of Children's Books 2011
Decorator Information

NEW FOR TREE FEST 2011!

1)  Judge's Choice Award!  (In addition to popular vote through purchase of vote tickets)  The judge/judges will make the selection after setup is completed on Friday, 12/2; announcement  will be made at the Opening Reception at 7:00 p.m.  The popular vote choices (1st Place Tree, 2nd Place Tree and Favorite Wreath) will be determined by the greatest number of vote tickets in vote boxes and will be determined by counting after 8 p.m. on the last day of Tree Fest, Friday, 12/16)
2)  Certificate given to each participating classroom
3)  More tiny trees for sale (we hope!).  Participation is entirely voluntary.  We're asking decorators to make some extra ornaments scaled to fit a small tree, still to the theme of their book, and bring them to setup.  We will provide a "tiny tree" at that time.  These trees will be available for sale to visitors during Tree Fest.

Each tiny tree is 24" tall, but with a burlap or velvet base of about 3".  The widest branch is 12" across and there are about 10 "levels" of branches with a single 4" long branch at the top.  Decorations could be as large as 2" in length and still fit within several branches.  For other decorations, they might only have an inch or so of space but the decorators can manipulate the branches to make them fit.  You could easily get 20 small decorations on a tree ... or fewer would look ok too.  Many decorators last year participated provided tiny trees last year and they were very popular with visitors!
4)  Saturday cleanup time reduced by one hour (now 9 to 11)
