Tree Fest of Children's Books 2007
    Silent Auction

Each year one of the features of Tree Fest is the silent auction.  A number of decorators allow their creation to be auctioned to the highest bidder in a silent auction.  Visitors can browse Tree Fest and if their favorite tree or wreath is one of those available for auction, they can write a bid in the Tree Fest auction book.  The highest bidder gets to take home the exhibit at the end of Tree Fest.  This feature of Tree Fest not only raises money for the library, but allows visitors to obtain a beautifully decorated tree or wreath for their holiday enjoyment.

Our thanks go to the decorators who offered their entries for auction and to those visitors who bid on these creatively decorated trees and wreaths.  The trees and wreaths that were auctioned at the close of Tree Fest 2007 are shown below:

    Tree 1 - A Splendid Friend Indeed - Snyder County Libraries - $40
    Tree 4 - T is for Touchdown - The Kemberling Family - $50
Tree 14 - The Christmas Candle - Susquehanna Valley Reading Council/
                  Sponsored by Marcinek's Beverage - $45
    Tree 16 - On Market Street - Seals Den - $65
    Tree 20 - Manana, Iguana - Rotary Club, Selinsgrove Area - $40
    Tree 25 - Cookies Week - Freeburg Pre-Kindergarten - $40
Wreath 1 - Merry Christmas Big Hungrey Bear - First Reformed UCC Women of the
                    Church - $40
    Wreath 3 - The Legend of the Poinsettia - Studio 2-B - $25
    Wreath 6 - The Kissing Hand - Natural Expressions Gifts & More - $20
    Wreath 7 - I Ain't Gonna Paint No More - Kiwanis Club of Selinsgrove - $20

Some visitors have asked about the minimum bids for the trees and wreaths.  Tree Fest sets these minimums because in the majority of cases, Tree Fest supplies the tree or wreath to the decorator.  Each year, Tree Fest purchases more trees and wreaths to replace those that have been auctioned.  In order to minimize our costs as much as possible, and thereby maximize the donation to the library from Tree Fest, the Tree Fest Committee decided two years ago to set a minimum bid for trees and wreaths.
