Tree Fest of Children's Books 2004
1st Annual Tree Fest

Friends of the Selinsgrove Community Library concluded a successful Tree-Fest of Children’s Books which was held from December 4 – 17 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Selinsgrove.

Votes were sold and a “Favorite Tree” was selected.

The winner was Hiawatha written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and decorated the Susquehanna Art Society.

Runner up for “Favorite Tree” was The Very Hungry Caterpillar written by Eric Carle and decorated by the Kemberling family.

A certificate was presented along with a prize of $25 and $15 respectively.

The winner of the “Favorite Wreath” was The Night the Toys Had a Party written by Enid Blyton and decorated by Gerry Shipe and Barbara Abers. It received a prize of $10 and a certificate.

Cash prizes were also drawn for winners from the voters. and cash prizes of $25 and $10 were awarded.

Trees and wreaths were auctioned off at the conclusion of the event. The following went at auction: Charlie Brown Christmas ; I Spy Christmas; Harold and the Purple Crayon; The Very Hungry Caterpillar; The Peace Book; The Fire Ca”; Babushka Baba Yaga; The Night the Toys had a Party; The Night Before Christmas; Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone; The Polar
