Tree Fest of Children's Books 2006

Our Third Annual Tree Fest of Children's Books was a wonderful event, the best Tree Fest ever!  All monies raised by Tree Fest 2006 have been donated to the library and will help fund Snyder County Libraries 2007 Summer Reading Program, which is available to all children in Snyder County.

and the winners are...

1st Prize Tree - "Old McDonald Had a Farm", created by Seals Den
2nd Prize Tree - "Herschel and the Hannukah Goblins", created by SAIS 3rd grade classes of Mrs. Beth Snyder & Mrs. Renee Parker
1st Prize Wreath - "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", created by Candy Bouquet

Congratulations!

Friends of the Selinsgrove Community Library will donate a children's book of the library's choice to the library for their permanent children's book collection on behalf of each of the three winners shown above.  A bookplate will be placed in each book commemorating the decorator's winning place.

Each year one of the features of Tree Fest is the silent auction.  A number of decorators allow their creation to be auctioned to the highest bidder in a silent auction.  Visitors can browse Tree Fest and if their favorite tree or wreath is one of those available for auction, they can write a bid in the Tree Fest auction book.  The highest bidder gets to take home the exhibit at the end of Tree Fest.  This feature of Tree Fest not only raises money for the library, but allows visitors to obtain a beautifully decorated tree or wreath for their holiday enjoyment.  Details on the 2006 silent auction.

There are so many people involved in making Tree Fest a success and our thanks go to all those who participated in this terrific event.
